Helpful and clearly written

The Asthma Educator's handbook is clearly written and a helpful reference to prepare for the NAECB exam. The one drawback is that the book was published before the release of the 2007 NAEPP EPR-3 guidelines and the chapter discussion of the guidelines is now outdated.

I bought this book despite reviews here saying it was published before the 2007 NAEPP EPR-3 guidelines, and doesn't include them. I figured it would be a good resource and I could go read the guidelines afterwards to get updated. It turned out that the reviews that were claiming it was out of date were wrong. It references the 2007 EPR-3 guidelines every few pages, and has quite of bit of discussion of the actual process that was used to make the 2007 guidelines. One instance that stands out is that it refers to intermittant asthma as "Intermittant" and not "Mild Intermittant" as they did before the 2007 guidelines, and even explains the rationale the 2007 panel used for dropping the word "mild." I don't know if my book was printed a little later than some of the other books and was updated, but it is still first edition and is still copyright 2007. I loved this book. It had alot of information and questions at the end of each chapter. It covered alot of material in a way that you can easily understand it.
