Book covers only 65% of TEAS exam

It seems that there is no one book that sufficiently prepares you for this test. This was one of three manuals I used for the TEAS exam and probably the one I liked the most. I found it less detailed than the Kaplan's book-GOOD THING!. I'd especially recommend it over the Kaplan if you are short on time. It is well-written, easy, and fits the TEAS better. However, it only prepared me sufficiently for the Math and English sections. Sadly, about 60% of its Science section I found useless for this test (applies to all books I'VE tried). And the most upsetting, about 6 topics necessary to pass the exam were missing in all books. You can't screw up more than 5 questions out of 40 per section. Someone told me that you could find the geography questions on various nursing blogs. I could not, but it's worth trying.

By M. Alexander - June 7, 2010I just received my grade from the TEAS which I took over the weekend. A 91, and I am ecstatic! Mainly because I will not be taking that test again! This review is not going to be so much about the books as it is going to be about the TEAS test, since that is what everyone wants to know anyway. I AM GOING TO LEAVE THE SAME REVIEW FOR BOTH THE MCGRAW-HILL AND KAPLAN BOOKS THAT I PURCHASED AT THE SAME TIME, SO THIS REVIEW WILL BE COVERING BOTH BOOKS IN CASE YOU ARE DEBATING ON WHICH ONE TO PURCHASE. IT IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THERE ARE SEVERAL VARIATIONS OF THE TEAS, SO ANY BROAD, GENERALIZED, EXAMPLE I GIVE IS SPECIFIC TO MY TEST ONLY AND MAY VARY WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR TEST. So if you just want to know if this book was good or not, skip to the final paragraph. Otherwise read on as I will be covering both book's weak and strong points with a little personal commentary about the test thrown in to the mix!

This study guide worked
By Kate - September 30, 2009This is the only study guide I used to study for the TEAS exam. There are 4 testing sections on the TEAS: Reading, Math, Science, and English. There are 2 practice tests for each and chapters on all the basic concepts. What I did was take one practice test from each section to see where my problem areas are, and then I studied the chapters. Then, I took the second set of practice tests from each section to see how much I improved. It worked great. I got a 90% on the official TEAS test.
