Hematology in Clinical Practice is a succinct, cutting-edge guide to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of red blood cells, white blood cells, and hemostasis, and the use of blood components for transfusion. Each disease state is discussed in detail, incorporating the pathophysiology, clinical features, up-to-date laboratory testing, and current management strategies into a comprehensive and practical approach to hematologic disorders.
Features:
The information is very basic and not much more than available in a general medicine text. Fails to provide more in depth information, which is what I expect from a text devoted entirely to a subspecialty.
This book often uses terms without explaining them and makes early references to concepts or diseases that aren't covered until much later in the book. It is not a good way to learn hematology for the first time, but would probably make a good review or reference book.
I bought this book as a reference and love it. It is a great way to find the information I need to look up.
