A hidden gem! Just AMAZING! (A student's review)

Get these 2 books and you will kill two birds with 1 stone! This is a long review, brace yourselves! A review for each section!
Here's the story if you are willing to read it: I am an incoming sophomore practicing early for the
PSAT/NMSQT. When I first started to study, I had no clue which prep
book would be the best. If you are anything like me or in my postion, you would feel overwhelmed. There were just a myriad of books to choose from: Barrons, Princeton Review, Kaplan, Sparknotes, The "Official" SAT book (aka
"Blue Book)! So I went on sites like yahoo answers and
collegeconfidential.com to ask. They all said to buy the blue book
first, that was the most important since it is made by the makers of
the SAT and blablabla. Then they said get another book with good tips
on how to answer those questions. Again, I was met with the same

Not bad
By nhdmaniac - March 11, 2012First off, I have to admit that I haven't actually gone through this entire book. I looked over some of the vocabulary section, and gave up about a fifth of the way through. The vocabulary "lessons" (there are 49 of them!) aren't exactly fun, or anything near that. The words are categorized into groups based on their definition. (For example, Lesson 1 is "Get to the Point!", with words like concise, abridge, and brevity.) However, it does have an okay four pages of tips about building an impressive vocabulary. There are some vocabulary exercises, but nothing particularly helpful. I completely skipped over "Critical Reading Skills" and "Sentence Completion Skills". I reviewed some of the math sections, mostly because it's been ages since I took Algebra I. The reviews were nice and short, but the practice problems were a little skimpy -- perhaps only six problems on a certain concept (like percentages).
