Common Sense

I finished reading this book today, but its effects have already taken effect: I lost 10 pounds in 2 months. But the most important thing about the book is the way concepts are assimilated and you can really FEEL the changes inside. I think this is just the beginning of a healthy way of eating for years to come. Losing weight will just be one consequence. I had read Fit for Life in the 80's and Allen Carr's book transmits a similar concept, in a different way. I strongly recommend this book even if you are not overweight, for you and your family, specially if you are a parent.

Sure it's a bit bonkers....

Let me preface this with the fact that I am a huge supporter of Allen Carr. I quit smoking and drinking w/ his books, and although I don't really have a huge weight problem, I was compelled to at least check out easyweigh. As a a result of this book (and others) I have managed to lose about 15lbs and feel better than ever. Had I never read Allen Carr's other books, I don't think this book would have done much for me on it's own. Yes... Easyweigh is quite bonkers at times. It is unfortunate that Easyweigh was not developed further because it did have a lot of potential.... it's almost as if he had run out of steam. Unfortunately, there is too much ranting and disconnected and incomplete thoughts throughout. However, since I am familar w/ the ways of Carr, I could pick and choose the gems of wisdom that do in fact exist. Another great book from Carr

I didn't find this book on the same level as his smoking and drinking books but it was good. All of his arguments were explained clearly, even if I didn't agree with them. I liked that he took a stance of moderation on this topic. Overall, it has motivated me to eat healthier. I am much more conscious of what I put in my mouth.
