Excellent for Learning How to Really Study the Bible
By Smiley Wiley :) - April 7, 2004I hope that nobody is discouraged from purchasing this book because of some of the reviews I read. This book is not tedious! You will get from this book what you set your mind to get from it. IF you want to learn how to dig into the Bible, IF you want to learn how to get the "meat" out of the Bible so that you can apply it to your life and IF you want your study time to be valuable and meaningful you SHOULD buy this book. It costs less than the price of a meal and you will be much more satisfied with this book! I have always wanted to know how I could learn more from the Bible and this book teaches you how. EXCELLENT EXCELLENT book! I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and grow in the Lord.
Excellent book with very poor quality binding.
By SIG - December 15, 2003I'm a Bible school student and had this text as one of two for a Bible Study Teaching Methods class. The book is an excellent resource for learning some basic methods of Bible study you can do on your own and then teach others to do as well. The only complaint I have about this book is the binding (hence the 4 stars). It is so poor that the spine cracked and pages were falling out before I finished reading the 2nd chapter. I'm going to contact the publisher and see if they will send me another book. Until then, I'll have to use lots of tape to keep the pages in place! Other than this, the book is excellent and would be a great addition to any Christian's library, but especially if you are a teacher of the Bible.

Zondervan has now released this larger workbook format that is so much easier to use. Even though I have Rick Warren's original first edition, I bought a copy of the beautiful new volume, and a dozen more just to give to friends I care about.
