Mosby's Q & A Review for the Occupational Therapy Board Examination
This book/CD-ROM review package gives you the necessary tools you need to successfully prepare for the National Board for Occupational Therapy Certification Examination. With this overall package you can study for the NBCOT certification exam and feel more confident you are prepared to take the test. The text includes 800 multiple-choice review questions written to parallel the content and format of the exam. The accompanying CD, with all 800 questions, enables you to generate an unlimited number of practice tests to simulate the actual testing situation.
All test questions in the book are included on the CD-ROM and are available in a "review mode" with immediate answers and rationales, or a "test mode," with test performance report.
Questions focus on the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF) as well as the results from the practice analysis completed by NBCOT.
Questions cross the spectrum of occupational therapy process - evaluation, intervention planning, intervention, service management, and outcomes of a variety of populations including pediatric, mental health, and adult physical and neurological conditions.
Practice environments such as the community, school-based and hospital based care are covered throughout.
Specific references for every question and a comprehensive list of resources are provided at the end of the book for further study.
Rationales for answer options are provided to explain why the correct answer is right and the other choices are wrong.
Provides information on the format of the NBCOT exam and tips for studying and answering test questions.
CD-ROM also provides detailed test reports that give a breakdown of the number of questions in each category and the number answered correctly during each practice test.
Good review, poorly written.

I found the Mosby's Q & A to be a great review for the board exam because it points out a lot of useful information that I wouldn't have thought to study. It was great to have the CD-rom to have immediate results on whether or not my answers were correct. However, the questions are VERY poorly written due to grammatical errors and I found it difficult at times to weed out what the question was asking. The questions are not written like the NBCOT questions will be written so keep in mind this book is only to use to get information out of and is not useful to use as a practice to see how you would do on the board exam.
Not one of my first choices for a study guide

The 2 good things about this book are that (1) the CD ROM is Mac compatible and (2) it does provide some useful information; however, I question the accuracy.
The questions are not well written, and some of the answer justifications provide conflicting and incomplete information. I've gone through about 1/4 of the questions and have even found one that I know for sure is wrong because I looked up the reference that they cited in the answer rationale.
I recommend looking at other resources before purchasing this book, if the writers cannot correct even the most basic and obvious grammatical and spelling errors, how trustworthy can they be for providing 100% accurate information.

This book is of poor quality and I was not satisfied. There are several grammatical errors due to inefficient proofreading that make the questions hard to understand. Additionally, I found several errors in the answers and justifications for them because they do no coincide with information that is presented in updated literature and textbooks from occupational therapy school. If possible, I would recommend retrieving study information from an NBCOT certified textbook.
