I only read short novels when I am between a good novel and a hard place. So I was not expecting too much from this one. I was wrong, this is a new series by Webb for Intrigue. It is hot and it was good.

Darby Shepherd has always felt a little out of place. She hears voices and sometimes sees visions. Now a serial killer has kidnapped one of the children she teaches. Darby has to let the police know and so she is revealed to the world as a psychic. She has always felt that she must hide her talent and now someone has found her. Adopted at 10 she has very little recollection of her previous childhood.

Aidan is an enforcer. He and Darby we raised togather for the first 10 years. She is his other half, his soul mate. Now they want him to find her and discover if she remembers the Center.
