By Elle P. "poptart18" - August 26, 2010Another reviewer was not exaggerating in stating that the size of this book is insane. The only thing is that they recommend buying the divided edition, but they don't say which one that is! I would have gotten the smaller two volume set if I had known what the ISBN was! The thought of having to haul this book to every class is terrifying to say the least. I'd have paid the extra money just to have this thing halved when I need to tote it.
The paper is super thin, not bible thin but close, and while the print isn't uber tiny, it is hitting the threshold for people w/ vision problems.
To help out all you people who would like the ISBN for the 2 vol. set, here it is from the back of the enormous book: 9780393930580
I'm going to post a picture so that you guys can get an accurate idea of the scale of this thing.

Great But Flawed and Much Too Expensive
By Stephen Gross - December 27, 2010This is a great anthology, but a flawed one. The works are first rate, but this one volume edition is much too fragile and heavy at the same time. If you use it often, the spine will get ruined, and the pages crumpled. My second gripe is with the cost. Most of the works are out of copyright, so they should be in the public domain. I don't see how, Norton can justify charging $50+ for something that should essentially be free. Okay, I understand the cost of the paper and all that, but I think $50 is just too excessive. Of course since this is required in most college English classes, there is not much anyone can do about it. But like textbook publishers, I feel like they are taking advantage of consumers as a result.
