She is just getting back into the dating scene when she meets a young rookie driver, Elec. Not really wanting to get involved with another race car driver, Tamara is convinced that keeping it light and casual is the only way to go, unfortunately that gets harder and harder to do.
I loved this book and I think it is going to be an awesome series. Erin McCarthy cracks me up and she had me laughing out loud throughout this book. Tamara's friend Suzanne was a laugh riot and her outspoken and blunt ways quickly won me over. Erin McCarthy books are always extremely fun, humorous and a whole lot sexy. This one was no exception; I loved it from start to finish.

32 is not old!
By BookcaseLaura "Laura" - May 1, 2012I struggled to get into this book. Not that it started out slow, but more that I was annoyed by the main character's (Tamara's) actions and self-deprecation. She kept referring to herself as being too old, and then it gets mentioned that she's 32?! That's OLD?! Ok, ok, she's had 2 kids, but still 32 is not anything close to being old. The author should have made her 42 if that card is going to keep being played (and even that's not all that old). It's hard to see how a man could fall in love with someone who is so down on herself so often and who put up such a fight all the time. But, said man, Elec, is very likable and has a much better attitude than Tamara does most of the time. He definitely makes up for her in the book. There are some really steamy sex scenes, and the book finishes a lot stronger once Tamara gets over some of her ridiculous insecurities. The scenes with Elec and Tamara's kids are great. Driver Elec Monroe has had his fill of groupies. Instead he wants Tamara even if she is a few years older than him and he even likes her two kids. He scores with her in the tryst of a lifetime, but she obstinately refuses his efforts to shift their relationship beyond a one night stand into first gear as he is a dreaded driver like her children's late dad. He begins a campaign that NASCAR would love as a victory to him is winning Tamara's heart permanently.
