A Book of Complete MADness
By Boxy The Turtle - June 11, 2005Let's start out with the fact that I am a HUGE fan of MAD Magazine. I subscribe to it, I have a lot of MAD books, and I have most of the issues ever made. This book is very cheap and if you want to know what MAD is or if you like it, I recommend this or another cheap, short MAD book.
MAD has been around since the 1950's. In the late 60's and early 70's, it was actually looked upon as controversial. Kids and teens loved it, parents really didn't. I'll explain the things you can find in here.
The MAD Students Hate Book: 4 pages of stuff that you most likely hate.
Funniest Part: "Don't you hate...finding out that the kid that you copied those test answers from is even dumber than you are?"

MAD student survival guide
By Cathleen Hendrickson Spitson "Cathy" - August 13, 2012I bought this as a birthday gift to my 10year old who hates school it was my hope she would see some humor in school not all the bad stuff like bullies or homework but the funny things like the pencil sharpener that eats your pencil or the teacher with dog breath.I read the book with her and we both had a good long over due laugh together I cant wait to get the next book of mad. I recommend these funny mad books for parents&kids,teens
Infantile, yet appealing to adults
By Charles Ashbacher - April 21, 2012The unusual characteristic of the humor in "Mad Magazine" is that it is simultaneously infantile yet appeals to adults. With the exception of some of the social and political humor, it can be understood and appreciated by people from the level of late elementary school all the way to advanced adulthood. No one is better at pointing out the logical inconsistencies and absurdities about American institutions than the people at "Mad"; in this case their targets are the pillars of education.
Students, teachers, administrators and parents all at some point have the red outline of Alfred E. Neumann on their backs, being the target of the "Mad" sniper scope. The humor will be appreciated by all, whether they are still in the public schools or have long since moved on to other things, although the target audience are young people that face the daily tribulations of going to school.
