I have my undergraduate degree in accounting, have worked as a corporate accountant with a Fortune 500 firm for the last 7 years, and have recently gone back to school to finish out my requirements for my CPA. Without a doubt, this is the worst textbook I have ever had to use. I consider myself very familiar with GAAP and with most accounting concepts, but this book still mystified me. I had to buy this book for a class and it is really pathetic. I'm only at chapter one and it is so hard to read because I keep stumbling over incomplete or run-on sentences. How does an educational textbook get published that is full of poor grammar? The authors and publishers should be embarrassed this went to print.
This textbook is awful. The text is inconsistant, and very hard to read. When you read the book it feels like each topic is written and put together on a random basis. There is no case in any chapter to help illustrate, some of the homework questions are very irrelevant to the content of the topics. No surprise here that my school always selects the worst textbook. This book deserves to eat dust. Avoid any class that uses this book if you can.
