I read everything in this book--twice--over the course of one week before the test. It includes every theorist, theory, law, strategy, etc. you could possibly need to know for the PLT. I took ALL of the multiple choice for practice, even the ones that were well beyond my grade level for licensure. The book not only provides the correct answers, but it also includes an explanation for each correct answer. Do at least 7 of the case studies (but spread them out over a few weeks!), and study the responses that scored a 2, 1 or 0 (make sure you understand what constitutes a complete/incomplete/unacceptable answer). This book was the only thing I studied for the PLT, and I scored a 198. The key is TIMING -- DO NOT LOSE TRACK OF TIME! You have approximately 25 min. per case study (there are 4 total), and about 20 min. to complete 24 multiple choice questions. You start with two case studies, do one set of 12 multiple choice, do two more case studies, and end with 12 multiple choice... read more
This book is very well organized, gives the student/teacher plenty of practice tests, and provides a thorough review. It was the third test-prep. item I purchased. I only wish it would have been the first, as I would have needed to look no further!
I bought this book to prepare for the Praxis PLT 7-12 and found it extremely helpful. The content review section is extremely thorough and covers all of the material you need to know for the exam in a concise and organized manner. It made it easy and accessible to find info about different educational theorist rather than searching through a psych of teaching textbook. The review questions are also helpful and good for praxis. Definately, worth the buy if you need a review book!
