I homeschool a 8, 6, 5 and 3 year old. I bought this to do a lesson along with releasing 1500 ladybugs in our garden. I found it a little young for my oldest three kids. There is good information but I wouldn't really put this further than first grade level. There are places where the information is a little more indepth. This might be a nice introduction to ladybugs for young kids or perhaps just a reading book, not school related, but I wouldn't put this in the second grade level.
I purchased this book for use in my classroom. It is very informative and the children enjoy the beautiful pics.
If you're teaching life cycles on insects this is a great book to buy. It is colorful and informative. It was very easy for my students ages 5-6 to comprehend.
