Not much to it
By Lisa McDonald - June 2, 2010I am somewhat dissapointed in this book. It is a mere 50 pages, with huge font and tons of empty space. Granted it didn't cost a whole lot but still, I would have liked to have seen more substance. Most of the book is actually just word lists, with a page of writing with a bunch of new words thrown in. I recommend Vocabbusters GRE much more highly, it has several examples for each word as well as definitions, crossword puzzles, and multiple choice reviews. Much better bang for your buck.

The purpose of the "drama" in the book was meant for the sole purpose of helping you remember each word. Without it, there would be no way for you to be able to retain everything. And clearly the stories are difficult to read because they're so wordy! Which again, is the point of the book.
My last point is the fact that this book is meant for people needing to learn the most important info for the verbal section FAST. Unless you have a photographic memory, it would be difficult to memorize the entire dictionary a few months before the GRE. Best of luck though! ;)

I only had a week before taking the GRE's, so reviewing high-frequency words on the verbal section--fast-- was really crucial for me. I would definitely recommend this book without reserve! It really is the perfect companion to your GRE study materials.
