This intermediate, modular approach to German grammar serves as both handbook and reference and practice manual. The 30 chapters are organized so that instructors can teach sequentially or take a modular approach as each chapter is a self-contained unit and can be used in any order. The streamlined chapter organization facilitates work in the classroom, presenting new information followed by oral and written practice as follows: "Grammatik (grammar), "Wortschatz (vocabulary), "Ubungen (self and small group practice), "Anwendung (in-class group activities), "Schriftliche Themen (writing skills), and "Zusammenfassung (a new summary section).The text follows the new "Rechtschreibreform rules."Zusammenfassung includes an "at a glance" presentation in color-coded, illustrated form.

Great Book/ WRONG Pub. date

This is a fabulous-easy to understand review of German Grammar. The appendix summary of the writing reforms is especially useful. I ordered a used copy of this book; however,it is copywrited 2001- NOT 2006! I was hoping for a more up-to-date book. My cover matches the cover posted here exactly and is the third edition. Definitely an error occurred somewhere in this listing. Don't pay $100 for a book published in 2001! Otherwise, I am very happy with this book.

Well organized. Well explained. Succinct. Excellent examples. We used this as our textbook for a German grammar class at Middlebury's Language skills my first summer. I used it every class after that regardless of what the actual required text for the class was. Unfortunately I lost my mine in a move and find it worth it to order another one.
