Well written and extremely informative
By Robert Kirk - August 28, 2010I have just moved to Reno and this book was on my hit list so I can understand and get acquainted with the area as soon as possible. This book is has been a great tool. In the short time I've been here I've seen/done/been to a few of these places referenced and the author describes them exactly. This man knows Reno/Tahoe. I can see me using this book for many years. The only thing I am a bit disappointed in is the amount of restaurants he reviewed. To be fair, there are many, many choices but it does seem that the coverage was a bit less than I would like. I guess I could just try them myself. In summary, very good book and extremely valuable for inside information on Reno/Tahoe.
Good book, not one picture.
By C. Boucher "CLB" - May 29, 2010This book is very helpful and full of information, however I was disappointed that a book about such a gorgeous place had no pictures of the places it was describing. I was bummed, but I'm over it now. At least there's one on the cover!
Don't buy this book
By malaykah "sc" - July 3, 2012We bought this book as a guide for a family trip to Tahoe. We had never been and knew little about the area. This book is so poorly organized that I hardly opened it once we got to Tahoe. I ended up using the internet more than the book. I use travel guides frequently and have never found one so difficult to use. It is basically just lists that are organized for each city (Reno, North Tahoe, South Tahoe, Sparks) There are no "Insider" tips on what is worthwhile or any useful information about how to organize your time in Tahoe etc.
