Awesome Pictoral!

I just got this book recently and it's beautiful. Not only is it a great looking book, but I leave it on the coffee table and it totally sparks conversation. I love the vintage feel of the book. The images are great...they have an almost eerie quality to them. It would be cool to see the pictures at an exhibit. The text is just decent, but while it might be great to have some more info on the actual buildings, this book seems to be more about the art of architectural photography than the art of architecture. PLUS, its really cool that the addresses are included in the book, so you could potentially go see these places in person. I think the photography is great and really very unique. Would totally recommend this book!

The spirit of Palm Springs

I've never been to Palm Springs. Ms. Faibyshev, through a few hundred or so photographs, some of which are absolute gems, recreates Palm Springs through a photo essay uncluttered by captions or any extraneous information that might take attention away from wonderful visual experience she has assembled. If you are looking for a book that captures this special desert community, frozen in time, in an authentic and sincere way, this is it. It has found a special space on my coffee table and will remain there for some time to come.

Great Coffee Table Book

First and foremost, this is a great coffee-table-book that will invoke the curiosity of enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike. The lay-out is simple, and easy to view making for an "easy read". The pictures are beautiful and visually stimulating, leaving little need to explain.

Overall, this book certainly exceeded my expectations.
