Much more useful than "501 verbs" by Barron's.

I used to have "501 verbs" by Barron's, but got tired of looking at the bad photocopy-like print. Not only that, the sentences given are too sparse, especially when you're working with a foreign language; all of which require both grammar and continuous repetition and decoding of sentence structure used in the language. This reference gives you that and it does it in a much better form than "501 verbs". If the establishment that is foreign language instruction can bare to loosing their grip on "501 verbs" long enough to see that there are new players on the market, they'll find a very useful companion to their current curriculum in "Websters New World 575 Spanish Verbs". If you're looking for another highly useful reference with enormous amounts of sentences to digest, you may want to look into the "Oxford Spanish dictionary on cd-rom". Some people say it is more important to focus on verbs than nouns when learning Spanish, and for those who believe in that, this is the book for them. Setting aside that point, I have used this book a lot in my own efforts in reading Spanish material professionally.

Each verb is given a page, with the seven forms of singular and plural simple tenses supplemented by the corresponding perfect and pluperfect tenses. Also, commands are treated thoroughly. The many sample sentences given to illustrate usage are very helpful. The appendix of 1,500 additional verbs conveniently gives the page number of one of the 575 with a matching conjugation. The introduction, "Verb Usage Review," gives an in-depth explanation of conjugation and usage and covers irregular verbs and special construction. With all this, I have found this book has greatly sharpened my Spanish.
