I found this book very difficult to put down, even though it is about a horrible topic there is a lot we can learn and as the author said, people need to know. If you want to know more about Anne Frank it does not have a lot but the harrowing tale told is well worth the read if you are interested in another survivor's experience.
Although the title of this book implies that a primary focus will be on Anne Frank, you realize not too far into it that Eva Schloss actually had limited contact with Anne during her all-too-brief life. However, Eva's story is fascinating in its own right, and this book offers not only that, but also a wonderful "epilogue" to Anne's life, in which her father, Otto Frank, and Eva's mother together ensure that her legacy will not be forgotten. This is a wonderful read.
I'm 14 years old and thought this book was interesting. Not one I would read twice, but good enough to read once. There was few parts that seemed to go on and on, while other parts left you on the edge of your seat. Eva's story is not that well known and I only happened to read it, becuase I was looking at the World War II section in the Library. All in all this is a fairly, well written book, but I found some parts a bit inappropriate for children under 13.
