Setting the stage with the Silk Road and desert caravens, this book puts COlumbus's voyages in context for young readers.
VERY interesting information on the Sargasso Sea makes this book stand out from the rest.
Mild and non-controversial, this book is good for reading aloud with a smaller child or for an early grades report. And that Sargasso Sea page is interesting for everyone in the family.
What a delightful book! It's beautifully illustrated with lots of info about Columbus and his voyage to the new world, including the animals that were a part of the journey. Great book!
This was a very nice spin on the story of Christopher Columbus :-). My 6 year old enjoyed learning about this story and the animals kept her interested. Would have like to have found more angles for children to read on this tale. If anyone has some suggestions, I would be very interested to check them out.
Thanks :-)
