wonderful coloring book

we bought a couple of these coloring books for our girls for Christmas. They both have enjoyed designing the dresses and drawing the people. I would definitely by more from the Rosie Flo line.

the coolest coloring books on the planet

The Rosie Flo coloring books are unique in that they are coloring pages full of torsos- dresses, bodies, etc- and the artist who colors them in is in charge of adding the heads, arms, legs, shoes, etc. It sounds a little odd, but it's really a great way to encourage kids to stretch their artistic wings a little bit and experiment with a little more creativity than just picking a color.

My daughter has been coloring in these books for years and I love being able so chart the years THROUGH these books- every year she begins adding new details and elements to the drawings.

The books are also beautifully printed and bound- no yellow-ish newsprint and glue here. The pages are thick and white, and they are sort of hand bound into the book using twine. These are really designed to be keepsakes as well as coloring books.

All the Rosie Flo books are terrific, but my daughter and I especially love this one. The line drawings are so creative and artistic -- the way she incorporates animal scales, feathers, etc. into fancy dresses and costumes is just beautiful. My daughter loved coloring them in at 5 and still does at 7. I've enjoyed it myself all along! Makes great birthday gifts along with a pack of colored pencils or crayons.
