Not for the "Weekend Warrior"
By khubbard1.8t - April 13, 2012Lots of good information in this DVD-ROM repair manual but it was not developed or intended as a general repair resource. This was developed for the professional and is intended to be used in conjunction with the factory VAG testing equipment or Ross-Tech VCDS software. If you are looking for a more "general" resource consider a paper copy Bentley service manual.
Disorganized mess
By 280z28 - March 16, 2012I bought this repair manual in the hopes of having the definitive technical resource for my 2006 A4. In the past I purchased paper manual from Bentley Publishers for a 2000 VW Passat that was satisfactory. In this case it's another story. Information is excruciatingly difficult to find and when found very limited and often omitting the substance you were hoping for or need to perform tasks. The search function is dismal and unable to limit search results to your particular model - even though the software has a VIN decode function (for what point I do not know). As the other reviewer stated you must register to use. For all the formality of the registration process you would think you're getting some kind of states' secrets. Stay away it's not worth the money. I haven't tried them yet but the Chilton or Hayes manuals have got to be better.
Not for the PC novice
By autogeek - July 20, 2010Not a "How To" manual! Use requires internet product registration. The required EBahn reader software does not work well with Windows Vista (probably requires eBahn updates etc). Works much better with Windows XP but there is a delay before the manual page is displayed (reader has to decrypt the page).
