This book is just what it claims to be: a guide to the essential or basics of using Autodesk Inventor. The pages are well organized and in color, and the exercises are simple. Overall the coverage of the Inventor commands is good, but not too deep. Autodesk Inventor is an big application and this book doesn't try to cover everything, but it does cover what is needed to get started designing with Inventor. I would recommend this to anyone who is new to 3D design and Autodesk Inventor.
Thom Tremblay is a articulate teacher who comes across as patient. From reading this book I would think he's a good dad. Now why would I say that concerning a CAD book? Imagine a very patient parent sitting down and working with you on your homework and knowing, what areas to build on to get a good understanding to proceed into something more complex. Well, there you go. If you're looking for a basic book that touches on almost every relevant section of the software while patiently taking you through the steps, this is it. It touches on content center, frame generator and even iLogic but it's more of an exposure to the capabilities rather than an in depth analysis. I imagine that was the intention behind the way it was written because it certainly comes across as such. So, even if you're not... read more
This training guide has worked out very well for me. I knew nothing about Inventor when I purchased it. It does a very good job of teaching, step by step, how to use and draw in Inventor. It also has a very good explanation of how the different files and options work in invemtor. Over all a very good beginners book.
