In The Field: Guided Field Assignments and Readings in Early Childhood Education

In the Field provides students at various developmental levels in early childhood programs with content for teaching in the early grades, working with families and working with supervisors that will carry over several semesters and into a professional setting. With applicable readings, and suggested resources, students are provided an opportunity to reflect on, and observe what they have learned, and field assignments encourage students? to practically apply their knowledge. The text is often formatted in checklists to better the retention of material. This format is consistent with induction methods for beginning professionals to ease the transition from student to professional.
