Dr. Bashour has been practicing in the San Francisco area for over 25 years. He is a clinical Professor at the University of California in San Francisco and Director of Intramural Education at the San Francisco Heart Institute at Seton Medical Center.

He finished his medical training and Cardiology fellowship at the George Washington University, where he joined the faculty and was awarded '';Outstanding Teacher of the Year.'' He has authored over 125 medical publications. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was on the main Editorial Board of the American Heart Journal for about ten years. While still working in San Francisco, he volunteered for the position as the first Dean of the new Faculty of Medecine at the University of Balamand in Lebanon, and is currently Vice President of the University for Medical Studies and a member of its Board of Trustees. De. Bashour's contributions include early recognition of Emorional Heart Disease, Coronary Spasm, and Heart Muscle ''Hibernation.''br>
