Remaining true to his convictions and believing in the American people, he had restored the economy, revived the American spirit, and defeated the Soviet Union. Even as he shared his personal battle with Alzheimer's with the nation, he left us with a message of hope: "I now begin the journey that will lead me into the sunset of my life.
