The manual is just for beginners

Its the first service manual that said "this job is recommended for a dealer service department or other qualified automotive repair facility", like the timing chain replacement part; how does the autor knows that You don't know how to do the job?. I have to do like the old school, the manual don't have accesories belt diagram, again, I have to draw in piece of paper for reference. And taking a look to the book, in the chassis electrical system section don't have where are the computers. In the engine rebuilding section, spent a lot of page for a univeresal engine rebuild, and then, how I would rebuild the engine if the manual don't said how to change the timing chain?, it's ridiculus. The book have a lot of pictures of Haynes manual like reference, and maybe all the fotos are them, the next time I buy the Haynes manual, I think it's more complete.

A less-comprehensive clone of the Haynes manual

This is an acceptable manual for the money, but if I had known it was a copy of the Haynes manual, even written by the same author, I would have just bought the Haynes manual. Instead, I bought both, hoping (as in the past) that one would cover items the other did not... I was right - about the Haynes manual. It covers everything I need without the safety banter and too-general tool information of this Chilton guide.

If you want a book to show you how to change your oil and illustrate major components, then go ahead and get this Chilton guide (there's a reason they're called "guides"). Otherwise, just pay for the Haynes MANUAL and get it all without the fluff and lawyer-speak.

Must have if you are gonna wrench on your MB...

Very well written and full of needed detail without loads of unneeded info. Wire diagrams are a nice bonus. Photos are good and information on needed special tools is very helpful. Short of the factory books I'd say the Chilton is a winner.
