Worthless and Waste of Money for Later Models
By fcwong - May 20, 2011This Manual basically covers the 1998 to 2002 model years. All they did was take the 1998-2002 manual, added some minor verbage, and re-label it to a 1998 to 2009 Repair Manual. All the photos in the book are of the 1998 to 2002 Toyota Sienna - none of the 2004 and later. This manual is worthless and a waste of money if you have a later model Sienna.
not useful for 2008 models
By jv - February 5, 2011I wanted to change the spark plugs, didn't think I would need the help of this book, but in fact they are not easy to find without a manuel. The manuel doesn't even go over how to do this for my engine! Big dissappointment - they only have earlier model year info- I don't know why they put 2009 on the title... Misleading and scandalous. If you have a 2008 v6 3.5 liter engine, this book is NOT for you.
Barely adequate for later Sienna models
By Lux Lucis - December 10, 2011I wish I had read the comments posted by other reviewers before buying this manual. I have a 2008 Sienna with 3.5L V6 engine. The newer Siennas utilize a cartridge type oil filter, rather than a more traditional spin-on canister type. This manual has a very perfunctory description of how to disconnect the cartridge filter housing and change filter media. Nor does it even mention the crush washer on the oil pan bolt (this washer is supposed to be replaced at every oil change).
Exhibit #2. The instructions for the cabin air filter replacement are so succinct as to be nearly useless: "for access to the cabin air filter, swing the glove box down". Fortunately, the Sienna owner's manual guides you through this procedure in much greater detail.
Verdict: you can spare yourself grief and watch youtube videos to guide you through whatever maintenance issues you come accross.
