This book should be required for all condo owners. Avoiding the legalese that can be so confusing, it explains the facts about condo living and management in a very easy and thorough manner. Also, it is extremely on-target about the problems that frequently occur, particularly with nonpayment of assessments, lack of participation on the board and at meetings, and disagreement or noncompliance with rules. In fact, people should read this book prior to buying a condo, to help them decide if they should even enter into it.
I just bought my first condo and bought this book to make sure I was not getting over my head. It helped make me know what I was getting into and will help me stay out of trouble by knowing what can go wrong in the future. The writer also has a website for condo users that made me realize I needed this book. [...]
I have not read the entire book, but went through it by content questions. I would recommend this product to anyone thinking of buying into a Condo Complex. It should be read by ALL realtors selling condos. (Most don't understand the differences between, condo, SFR, or PUD, and then do not the research). I am the president of a condo association, and we have people buying in, and some that have lived here for a long time, who don't understand what they bought. The answered questions are good, but I think the average reader will have to read some answers more than once to; 1st. to understand what they have just read and 2nd. to believe it. The author is a well known expert in this field.
