By KCtrader - August 4, 2012Would you buy a cookbook from someone who claims to be a chef, who clearly understands the ingredients and components of a good meal, but just couldn't make a delicious dish?
Here's my story. It was late 2010. I had about $10k to invest, but always thought I could do it on my own, without the need for a financial advisor. After all, if they understood markets, shouldn't they all be rich? I read books, articles, anything I could find to learn about how the markets worked and different approaches to investing. I discovered there are many "markets," but an even greater number of alleged strategies to extract money from those markets. I needed to find a niche. I came across this book and decided that the leverage afforded by buying calls and puts would provide the % return I was looking for on my small account.

Not just for Options Traders (or women)

Olvera "MC" - October 6, 2009I'm stationed overseas and have limited access to books...this one happened to be the only option trading book around, so I sheepishly picked it up and purchased it. It's great! Not only did it clarify the not-too-easy-to-understand world of options, it taught me a lot about chart reading/technical analysis for my regular stock purchases. Using the information in the book, I've made one options trade, and several stock trades I never would have attempted before, and have made significant gains. Great book, highly recommend it!
It lacks in some areas and shines in others
By Terrell Powers - July 10, 2010I bought this book (kindle version) and found it to be both good and not so good. The information about what options are is adequate. A lot of the book is concerned with chart reading and the authors' take on that subject. Now charts do help you, but a lot of the information she provides is found on the chartschool section [...] (which she gives credit to) and that info is free. As you read the book you'll find you are constantly going to this web site to get a clearer understanding of what she is writing about in the book...some of the strategies are good, but not that revolutionary. I felt I did not get as much out of this book as I thought I would but did learn a few things...oh well, off to my next book on options. Hope it's better.
