Comprehensive Manual on Holistic Discipleship

Hull, who has spent his entire life discipling disciplers, and is a life-long learner, has composed a comprehensive manual on holistic discipleship. Readers will fine a biblical theology, spiritual theology, historical theology, and practical theology of discipleship. Written in a lucid style and well-organized, this can become a classic volume to return to again and again.

Helpful and Timely
By Joel S. Frady - March 24, 2009There is a great emphasis in many evangelical churches on trusting in Christ for salvation but little emphasis on following Jesus. There is much more emphasis in many of the most influential churches on life management and maximizing our success. But Jesus clearly said that those who know Jesus follow Jesus (John 10:27). When we read the Scriptures we clearly see that those who are called Christians are those who follow Jesus, not simply those who make a "decision for Christ." Of course, the Bible says we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). Yet, when one is a Christian, there will be change in one's life as a result of knowing Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). However, honest Christians will acknowledge that we don't always know where or how to begin with following Jesus.

Best Book of Discipleship!
By J. Maurer "JoJo" - June 26, 2007Bill Hull's book The Complete Book of Discipleship is one of the best books I have seen on the topic of discipleship. It is a thorough, well written biblical description of what it means to be a follower of Christ no matter where one is on their faith journey. It also shares the history from which discipleship comes, what it means to be a disciple and practical ways to implement it in your life or a church setting. His ability early on to merge classical discipleship, spiritual formation and environmental discipleship in such a way to convince the reader that the best possible way to find a full bodied discipleship is to involve all three was refreshing.
