Couldn't have passed TExES Science 8-12 without it...
By D. Braswell - April 20, 2009I recently took both the TExES 8-12 Science and Math exam via computer. I have not taken a science exam in the last 25 years. I had taken the GRE about 4 years ago and scored a 790 of 800. The TExES exam was about 50% harder than the GRE. Quite simply, I would not have passed the exam without this study guide. It has some problems (wrong answers, inconsistent portions, etc.), and I almost gave it four stars for that reason. BUT, it hands-down prepared me to pass the TExES exam, and that is the main purpose. The Morrison guide was nearly worthless. Don't forget to download the practice exam from the ETS website. Horrendous Book
By Ceci "sanamariacm" - August 1, 2010I bought this expecting a well-written review book, however, I should have paid more attention to other reviews. The author clearly had good intentions, but the editor absented themselves, for there are so many typos and downright incorrect information in this book that it is barely useful. Other XAM reviews are fairly good, but I found that I got more out of Princeton Review AP books than I did from this book. Even the test at the end of the book is rife with typos, and good luck using the answer key at the end (there are many incorrect answers, or the correct answer does not correlate with the multiple choice selections in the book). I am throwing my chips in with the other reviewers who said that they used individual textbooks to review for the TExES exam.
Little Illustrations
By nazirite777 - August 6, 2010The product has a lot of information but assumes you already know much. It skips steps and often says: see illustration when there is no illustration. So you end up having to go to the internet and other sources to see how everything is done. For the money it would be nice to see it have more illustrations.
