Story Behind the Book
“Three key experiences in my life have come together to make this book a reality. First, as the pastor of a local church for thirteen years, I have had the privilege of visiting people who are facing imminent death, conducting funerals, and ministering to grieving families. During these times people often have probing questions about life after death. Second, due to my interest and writing in the area of Bible prophecy, I am frequently asked questions about the afterlife at conferences and via e-mail. Third, all kinds of books, TV shows, and groups out there today are fostering unbiblical views of life after death. Knowing that this is a subject of universal interest and great confusion, I have a passionate desire to create a user-friendly, clear, straightforward resource to answer all the key questions that people everywhere are asking about life’s greatest mystery.”

The thought of death fills many Christians and nonbelievers with fear, that they try to avoid thinking or talking about the topic altogether. But sooner or later, everyone must face death. So, what happens after we die? In this slim volume, Mark Hitchcock offers an enlightening view of life after death.
In 55 short chapters, Hitchcock, a pastor and prophecy expert, examines questions most people have asked at some point: What is death? Where do people go when they die? What is heaven like? Throughout the book, Hitchcock uses Scripture references to answer the questions he poses. Hitchcock does not pull any punches in addressing his topics, particularly heaven and hell. "In Matthew 25:46, both heaven and hell are described as `eternal,'" Hitchcock writes. His answers are in-depth, but not preachy, and many of the book's chapters seldom extend beyond three pages.

Not an intellectual review, lol.

I just wanted to throw this review out there for readers like me. I was and am very interested in these types of questions. I was and am very uninformed about these questions and answers, and I really wanted to hear them from anything other than opinions. I have a VERY hard time staying interested in books and in turn finishing books. Like everyone else in this world I have read way too many books to count, but, the books I have actually finished from beginning to end I could most likely count on my fingers. I couldn't wait to read each chapter and turn each page. What made the read worth it to me was how he backed up each answer, which seemed like an opinion at first, with biblical wisdom and proof. I loved this book.

This book is well written - easy to follow and understand. The author supports his opinions with Bible references to underscore his belief in life continuing after death. I found the information provided in this publication very comforting, as I too am committed to seeing my departed love ones again.
