I'm confused by Dreamweaver's review of 5/11/08. I found this CD clear and interesting. In fact, I found it much more accessible than her book Molecules of Emotion which I slogged through. Here, Candace Pert is charming and clear. Sure, she embraces many some "new age" ideas/concepts that I don't, but there is enough interesting info, backed by scientific research that has made it worthwhile listening.
enjoy,
Great thesis that we are captives of molecules for better or worse. Your Body is Your Subconscious laid it out pretty well, but To Feel Good didn't add anything. My anticipation of endorphin rush was not met. A casual rehash on one CD and interview on the other. But here's what I'd like to know: Can we transcend our molecular dualistic feelings? Are there studies of happiness vs. the biochemical millieu? I saw my wife under extreme, unrelenting pain over a period of two weeks (pancreatic carcinoma), laughing and comforting others, finally pass on. She was a bhakti yogi. So how does that work?
I have listened to about three quarters of the 2CD pack. Candace Pert explains in simple English how our bodies and brain respond to our emotions and not the other way around. She talks about how our brains and bodies can heal by stimulating our emotions through different avenues/exercises. Her prefrontal cortex references are fabulous. A must read/listen for those interested in the molecular/energy/healing/collective-consciousness science fields of study.
