I came across this book and bought it because the product description claimed that - "With this quick, to-the-point resource, you won't just be "up and running" in [...]; you'll be an expert!" However I found the book to be for complete beginners - not just [...] but beginners to computers.
If you are new to computers and need step by step help with creating leads, accounts, etc, then this book may be for you. I believe my dad would fit into this category because he has to even struggle with printing a word document. This is a great basic book on Salesforce. This is not a book you can really sit down and just read through to get new ideas of how to use Salesforce. The layout is by function, each section gives a brief overview of the function and then step by step instructions for how to use that function. Additionally it has a good overview of which functions come with each tier of Salesforce. Overall a good book for beginners, long time users will probably be disappointed as most of the topics covered are basic.
The title of the book was promising. The content is too basic. If you know your way around salesforce and understand its basic concepts, this book does not add any value. I flipped through it in 10 minutes looking for anything new to learn but found nothing!
