The U.S. government is the biggest customer in the world! How can your small business get a piece of the pie?
The Definitive Guide to Government Contracts begins at the beginning, and assumes no prior knowledge of the government marketplace. Written in a clear, easy-to-understand language by experienced sales and marketing professionals, it takes you through every step of the process--finding the opportunities; understanding the requirements; registering your company and submitting your bid; shipping, packaging, and invoicing requirements.
The same step-by-step approach is used to explain the increasingly popular GSA contract, from researching the schedules, preparing the paperwork, and submitting your proposal, to the all-important marketing that is required once the contract has been awarded.
Thinking about selling to the federal government but don’t know where to begin? The Definitive Guide to Government Contracts is all the help you need.
Rehash of Information Already Available

This book was a disappointment. It is basically a rehash of information already on the GSA and Fed Biz Ops websites. As another viewer said, there is lots of information on things like a GSA contract - but no real guidance on how to develop a proposal or examples of a proposal that would help someone trying to obtain a GSA contract. Also contains many pages on how to use and search the Fed Biz Ops that looks almost like the instructions you can find at the Fed Biz Ops site. It does contain a guide to some of the web sites that would be of interest to those seeking a contract with the government. Disappointing book for me.
Best one of the bunch!

I purchased several books on government contracting but this was the only one worth buying. It is very easy to use and laid out in a way that just makes sense. They take you step-by-step through the process in clear and concise manner. They also offer links on their website to all the different information. Very well done!
Making Sense of Government Contracts
By Pamela Robinson - July 18, 2010
"The Definitive Guide to Government Contracts" tackles overblown fears about trying to do business with the federal government by offering hundreds of bits of information in short, digestible bits over 10 chapters.
Covered topics include finding and using federal business opportunity sites, writing solicitation documents, service contracts, GSA rules, meeting requirements, and how to proceed once awarded a contract.
The book includes dozens of required forms for different kinds of business, and is written in a clear, searchable style that encourages readers to look at federal business as an opportunity, not an obstacle to be overcome.
