Preserving Archaeological Remains in Situ? Proceedings of the 2nd Conference 12-14 September 2001

This volume presents the papers and posters presented at the second Preserving Archaeological Remains in situ (PARIS") conference. This second conference set out to address three main themes: to review recent research; to examine the relative success and consequences of decisions - especially those taken in the last decade or so - to preserve particular sites in situ; and to try to identify strategic directions for future research into the protection of our cultural heritage. The 37 papers in these conference proceedings represent a comprehensive collection of some of the key issues facing researchers and historic environment managers today, and are an important reference work for the protection of the historic environment tomorrow.
