This book was required for a travel french class that will take 6 meetings to complete. However, with the DVD in the back of the book and receiving the book a couple of weeks before the class began, I uploaded the activities onto my computer and got started! It is a GREAT way to hear those new language words and begin to build vocabulary for traveling in France! The book also contains flashcards and stickers of items that you find in your home. All you have to do is attach them and begin to see and process the language for that particular article! For the price and the quick learning this book has provided, I would totally recommend it to a novice French individual!

It Works Tres Bien

When an English only speaking traveler takes his/her first trip to a foreign-speaking country, that initial shock comes when you step off the plane and find that you can't communicate with those you are turning to for assistance. I can imagine the horror of simply asking directions to the restrooms. "French in 10 minutes a day" made my first two trips to France easier to function in this cultural shock. Working alone with this course takes time and dedication, but it will help in your survival in a foreign country.

However, I've found that the best method for using this workbook is to pair up with your spouse or a friend and work together at the same pace. In no time you'll be speaking to and understanding each other in French. It's not the high-dollar immersion course that your hear about on TV, but by working in pairs (or groups), you can make it that.

The system cuts to the chase and doesn't bog down with grammar. You learn practical phrases and vocabulary to help in a practical way with a travel or business experience.
