This is an great resource to help therapists, teachers, and parents deal with the hygiene issues that children on the autism spectrum often have trouble addressing. It is easy to follow with great activities that pull humor into an often embarassing subject. Each chapter includes lesson plans with the amount of time each activity takes to help in planning. Chapters also include a list of instructional materials and supports as well as wrap up questions at the end of each chapter. Activities are well thought out and are easy to follow. This is a great resource for OTs in the school system to share with teachers and parents!
Wow! What a great hands-on approach to teaching life skills to children that have difficulties with them! This book gives fabulous ideas and creative ways to teach everyday social skills to children with Aspergers. It takes situations that are not socially accepted and gives practical ideas on how to teach your Spectrum child what is acceptable. I would stongly recommend this book. It is clear that the author has an understanding for children on the spectrum!
This book shares humorous ways to learn social skills with great results. Finally a way to help kids improve their hygiene skills while having fun.
