Engineering for a Finite Planet

Ecological planning can be reflected in many different aspects of a building including its facade, building technology, lighting, rainwater use, and energy plan. Engineering for a Finite Planet introduces the work of the British engineering firm Buro Happold and presents selected projects along with a wide range of constructional detail. Included are the roofing of the inner courtyard of the British Museum, the Millennium Dome in London, and the Nomadic Museum in New York, which is made entirely of shipping containers. This book focuses on realizing architectural designs in an ecologically sensible way and assessing solutions from a long-term perspective.
