Information Systems Theory and Applications

Today Information Systems are used as competitive weapons for more business opportunities. In the earlier days, Information was considered as a "Paper dragon" that could potentially strangle the firm and prevent it from doing its real work. Presently, information systems have become so vital to the management, organisation, operation and products of huge organisations that it is impossible to manage without at least some grounding in the fundamentals of what information systems are, and its relationship to the organisation and its employees, the way they can make business more competitive and efficient. In order to make this subject effective, this book has been written in a simple way to make the undergraduate students understand the subject easily and to serve them as a first course who could subsequently take up major subjects in Information System Theory at higher levels. This book has been written in 5 units and 10 chapters, to aid especially students of BCA course, by putting all our efforts to provide a comprehensive and current survey of literature on organisations and systems in a simple style.
