Overview

Sitting on the banks of the Red River in northern Vietnam, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, retains the dignified

The Old Quarter is the heartbeat of Hanoi in which over 1000 years of history reverberates. As you explore
the labyrinth of narrow alleyways in this district the aroma of freshly baking bread and roasted coffee
permeates through the air, a legacy of French Indochina and an example of how the Vietnamese have
skillfully absorbed the best characteristics of their invaders into their modern day culture.

Cafes, Coffee Shops and Restaurants are in abundance in Hanoi which is renowned for its delectable
culinary scene but it is also a cultural centre with a scholarly history and the combinations of past and
present, Vietnamese culture and external influences have created a cosmopolitan city like no other.

3 Day Hanoi City Break & Safari in Vietnam

Hanoi
Named by Frommers Travel Guide as one of the world’s “Top 2010 Destinations”, the cosmopolitan and
cultural city of Hanoi, which is also the capital of Vietnam, is located on the right bank of the Red River in
Northern Vietnam. At the opposite end of the country to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi is the second-largest city in
Vietnam with a distinctly provincial feel.
Getting to Hanoi
The easiest way to get to Hanoi is to fly directly to Noi Bai International Airport which is the biggest airport in
northern Vietnam and is located 28 miles (45 km) from downtown Hanoi. ZiZ Inspire can arrange flights as

Itinerary
Day 1
Be met at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport by your ZiZ Inspire private car and driver who will whisk you
away to your central Hanoi Hotel. In the evening we recommend seeing a Water Puppetry Show as this is an
age old art unique to Hanoi.

Typically based on traditional Vietnamese fables, the show depicts “puppets that dance on the water” which
are controlled by 11 puppeteers. The cast also usually includes fire-breathing dragons, acrobatic rice farmers
and maidens that dance across the watery stage. A band accompanies the performance which keeps the
legends alive.
Day 2
Day 2 is your city safari of Hanoi during which you visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, a place of pilgrimage for
Vietnamese, the One-Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature (built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first
University), Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple.

Accompanied by one of our expert guides the Hanoi City Safari is an enriching experience and one that will
leave you with a first-hand understanding of the city, its history and how it has evolved over the centuries.
Perhaps the main highlight of the day though it the Cyclo ride through the Old Quarter.
Day 3
Spend more time getting to know Hanoi under your own steam. The car and driver will be available to
transfer you back to Noi Bai International Airport for departure.
