You may ask, what the heck is a powered paraglider? A
traditional paraglider consists of a wing and a harness
that a pilot straps him or herself into. The pilot controls
the wing with brake toggles which in turn control where
the craft goes. The biggest difference between traditional
and a powered paraglider is just what you would think: it
has a motor and propeller in addition to the rest of the
craft. This craft is considered to be an ultralight craft
seeing how it is too small to be in the Light Sport
Aircrafts (LSA). Because you have a motor and a caged
propeller on your back with the paragliding wing above
you, powered paragliders give you the opportunity to
take off and fly anywhere in a legal flying zone in any
terrain you wish.

One of the biggest advantages in flying a powered
paraglider is the fact that there is no required license
in the United States in order to be able to pilot a
craft. This is because it is an ultralight craft. While
this seems to be an easy way to teach yourself and fly
without help, it is still an extreme sport and it is
highly advised to seek out proper training. Training
to pilot a powered paraglider does not have the same
intensity as training to get a pilot's license. This is

crashing their crafts, the biggest reason to most of
those crashes is because of the lack of common sense

safer than driving a motorcycle. Even when those
