Advertising For Free, Learn How To Get Traffic To Your Website
It is a great feeling when you have built your website and it looks professional, glossy and attention
grabbing. You know that if people see the site then there will be a good chance that they will buy from
you but herein lies the problem.
How do you get people to your website in the first place?
You will have heard of paid advertising, places such as Google AdWords, but when you first start out
and are on a limited budget you can soon spend all of your money on adverts and if you do not know
what you are doing then you will not get great results.
You could also use a professional advertising company or marketing expert to drive traffic to your
shiny new website - but that can be even more expensive!
So how can you get traffic to your website for free?
One way is to contact other website owners in your niche (similar products or service to you) and ask
them if they want to swap links. If they agree then you set up a links page on your website, add their
details and a link to their website and ask them to do the same for you on their website. This is very
effective and creates what is called a backlink. Google loves backlinks especially if they are related to
your website content and this will push you further up the search results where people will find you
without you having to pay for the click as you do with advertising programs.
Another great way to get free traffic to your website is to look for forums online related to your niche.
Just type your keyword phrase or niche title into Google and add the word forum. You will see lots of
forums hopefully (depending on how obscure your niche is) and you can then join them and start
talking about your services.
Be careful though as if you start blatantly advertising your website without joining in on the topics in
the forum then you will not be seen as adding value - no-one will visit your website in this case so you
will just be wasting your time.
The other trick with forums is to see how active they are. If you see regular recent posts from other
people then you know that they get plenty of activity so you will be able to utilize this easily by joining
in. If, however, the last post is from three years ago then there is no point in you joining as no-one will
see your posts.
