New York, NY (1888PressRelease) - Aggregate Industries, a supplier manufacturer of concrete
and aggregate products for the construction industry in the UK, Channel Islands and Northern
Europe, recently placed as one of the top 10 finalists for the Intranet Benchmarking Forum's
Most Beautiful Intranet competition. Aggregate's "BRAINS" intranet, powered by Intranet
Connections, out of the box social intranet software, landed in the top 10 against 36 other entries.
The contest entries were voted on by 1,396 site visitors to produce 10 finalists who were then
judged by a panel comprising of IBF managing director Helen Day, art critic Jane Singer and
former BT intranet manager Mark Morrell.
"We were extremely pleased to hear that we had finished in the top ten" offers Brian Woodward,
Senior Web Developer at Aggregate Industries, "By entering the competition, it gave us
perspective on our intranet site and provided a forum for feedback from our employees on areas
we can improve and further communicate on the intranet."
Aggregate is now looking to roll out additional features to their intranet home page, accessible
through the built-in widget tool within Intranet Connections, including an injury calendar widget,
event calendar feed that shows upcoming corporate activities, and publishing a highly visible
document on the home page to better educate about BRAINS, and how content can be submitted
and shared, particularly for on-boarding new employees.
