Portable Air Compressors: You can use them Here, There or ...
Carry them here and carry them there, portable air compressors can be carried and used
anywhere. So I told my friend, Sam, one day. And he said to me, "Anywhere? That I would like to
see. I am sure I can find a place that cannot be." So I took the challenge and asked him where he
would like to see me work my Air Compressor.
"Well," he said, "some places are obvious for good portable air compressors to roam, so let's start
there, somewhere easy such as your home."
As he said, that was easy peasy, lemon squeezy. I use my air compressor around my home all the
time. I used it with my my nailer to put up a fence and to lay the baseboards around our new
kitchen flooring (and the cutting tool to trim the floorboards I was laying). I used the caulking gun to
recaulk the tub, and a sander to bring new life to an old side table. Oh, and after I built that fence,
my friend and I used our portable air compressors with spray guns to apply the finish. One of
these around the house is a must, not a wish!
"O.K., he said, I knew that was easy, but would you, could you, use it in a zoo?"
A zoo? That really isn't that hard either. Let's pretend to be a zoo keeper and see what can be
done. Let's take a group of portable air compressors and each use a grease gun to grease all the
cage doors. No more squeaks to annoy the caretakers or irritate the animals galore! And being
portable, I just carry my compressor from cage to cage. While at each cage, besides greasing the
doors, I can use my grinder to remove any rust from the bars. I know that other uses are there to,
but my point is proven that it is of use here too.
"A zoo, that obviously wasn't too hard, but let's see, could you take it and use it on a roof?"
Surprisingly, I thought, that is not that difficult either, of course I would, I could, use portable air
compressors on a roof! While up there I could use a drill to tighten the screws on the vents. And if
those vents are dirty and sooty too, I can use grinders and polishers to make them like new. And
while I am there, if it is a flat business building roof, perhaps I can use a spray gun and do some
painting too.
"All right, you seem to have some basic places covered without much thought, but," said Sam with
a glint in his eyes, "I bet I can stump you yet. What would you do with one on the Great Wall of
China?"
China, huh? I've been there before so at least I know what is in store. First, though it is portable, I
believe that there is not way I can take my air compressor as a carry on, it will have to be checked!
And since no extension cord will be long enough, a gas generator is the only way to go. Now, I
only took one tool with me, because I pretty much knew what I had to do, and it was a cleaning
gun. Because the wall was old, and visited often, it was covered with a lot of grime and scum. It
took awhile, but working day and night it wasn't long before the entire wall was gleaming in the
light. And it is said that the wall can now be seen from outer space at night.
Now, most portable air compressors don't get to do something so noble, but regardless of their
use, they can be used here, there or anywhere.
