Example no (2): Find the number that is the quotient of 42 and give the answer equal
Solution: The above statement is written as if the number that is quotient is x then
42 / x = 3
or 42 = 3 * x
or 3 * x = 42
divide each side of equation by 3 as or x = 42 / 3
or x = 14.
So the value of quotient is 14 ,we can also cross check the answer by putting the
answer into the original equation as 42 / x = 3
42 / 14 = 3
