Andre Alves Rochester NY Eastman Kodak Company Greater Rochester New York Andre Alves Rochester NY Eastman Kodak Company Greater Rochester New York According to the latest news in Rochester NY, The Eastman Kodak Company should be filing for bankruptcy “in coming” weeks, explains Andre Alves owner of Aware Bear Computer Repair in Rochester NY. The news was published in The Wall Street Journal (December, 4th 2012). Andre explains that Kodak was at one point the largest employer in Rochester NY. The Eastman Kodak Company has been struggling with the world wide photo market since the late 1990s when digital photography was first introduced. Andre Alves from Rochester NY remembers the first Kodak photo discs that were able to be played on a TV by a digital reader. Since the digital revolution, Kodak was really able to compete with its major rival Fuji that later on teamed up with Xerox (another Rochester NY company) in order to develop digital photography equipment. The Eastman Kodak company wanted to get a head start in the digital photography market. Kodak has always been the leader when it came to analog (film) photography and wanted to still be the leader in the digital market” says Andre Alves from Rochester NY. At the time Kodak was developing a consumer and a professional line of photography software that could be used with Kodak’s consumer point like shoot cameras and also the professional DSLR. Kodak was the first company to develop a DSRL that delivered almost 14 mega pixels image files. The 14n professional camera used Nikon lenses and had an impressive 13.89 mega pixels. The Kodak 14n was introduced on the market a little bit over ten years ago, back then anything over five mega pixels was phenomenal, many of the Nikon DSLR cameras Andre used in the late 90s and early 2000s were five or six megapixels. Back then the Nikon 420 and 620 cameras were cutting edge technology. The 14n was discontinued by Kodak in 2005. The Kodak 14n is a classic example of a great camera sold in the wrong time at the wrong price. According to The Wall Street Journal, Kodak’s bankruptcy is still a rumor and it has not been confirmed by the company. Kodak does not want to comment on the issue and we hope they will be able to revamp the company and do well in the near future. Andre Alves personal business experience when it comes to businesses is: Many businesses need to re-structure themselves, for the last five years or so Kodak has been downsizing and selling excess surpluses (buildings, warehouses and other equipment no longer needed). The 21st century economy has changed a lot from the traditional old 19th and 20th century economies. 21st century businesses have to adapt in order to survive the new times. http://www.andreleitealves.com/andrealves/rochester-ny-eastman-kodak/
