Please read the following information carefully before using this site.
Thank you for your interest in animals at Animal Care & Control of NYC. Each day between 5:00 and 5:30 p.
m., AC&C posts a listing of animals at risk for being euthanized the following morning. The list will remain
up until 6:00 a.m. the day following it being posted. Between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day
the animals from the previous day's list that have been placed with New Hope partners or
members of the public will be listed.
In general, the animals are on the list for one or more of the following reasons:
ill with a contagious disease
affected by a medical condition that our Care Centers are unable to manage or cure
have a behavior challenge that will require training or behavior modification.
Animals that have exhibited aggressive behavior are not available for direct adoption and can only be placed with
our New Hope partners.
If you see an animal below that you are interested in adopting, please follow these steps. Please note that
you must follow ALL steps to be considered for adopting the animal(s).
1. Selecting: Select the animal you are interested in adopting by clicking on the `You can Click Here to reserve me'
button. You may indicate interest in a maximum of two animals.
2. Adoption Deposit: Once you have decided that you want to proceed with the adoption, click `Continue to
checkout for animal(s)'. You will then be required to make a $50.00 non-refundable adoption deposit via PayPal.
You will receive a confirmation receipt.
3. Adoption Questionnaire: Using the receipt number from your deposit confirmation, you will then complete and
submit an online adoption questionnaire.
4. Come to Care Center: The final step towards adopting is to come to the Care Center where the animal is
located to meet this animal and review your information with staff. You must come to the Care Center within 48
hours to complete this process. If the animal's condition requires that it needs to leave the shelter sooner than
48 hours you will be contacted with that information.
AC&C reserves the right to deny adoptions if we deem it appropriate. Please refer back to our website
for additional information on this site and the content that is included.

A volunteer writes: First, lets talk about Gabriel's eyes. They're magnificent: two greenish-yellow pools that make you ache for this sweet boy, who
was brought to the Care Center due to "family changes." Gabriel is very friendly, relaxed, and peaceful. He enjoys all human affection (and gives
plenty of rubs in return) and seems to like being talked to. He's so sweet and good, he'll be perfect in any household. The volunteers who adore him
have promised him we'd get the word out about how wonderful he is. And he is! Come meet him today on 110th Street.

groomed and a staff member was petting her said, "This is a family dog, a house dog," and indeed she is. I see Kelly in a family, kids to play with, a
couch to curl up on as the family comes together to watch TV or play video games. Kelly appears to be housetrained, relieving herself as soon as we

m., AC&C posts a listing of animals at risk for being euthanized the following morning. The list will remain
up until 6:00 a.m. the day following it being posted. Between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day
the animals from the previous day's list that have been placed with New Hope partners or
members of the public will be listed.
In general, the animals are on the list for one or more of the following reasons:
ill with a contagious disease
affected by a medical condition that our Care Centers are unable to manage or cure
have a behavior challenge that will require training or behavior modification.
Animals that have exhibited aggressive behavior are not available for direct adoption and can only be placed with
our New Hope partners.
If you see an animal below that you are interested in adopting, please follow these steps. Please note that
you must follow ALL steps to be considered for adopting the animal(s).
1. Selecting: Select the animal you are interested in adopting by clicking on the `You can Click Here to reserve me'
button. You may indicate interest in a maximum of two animals.
2. Adoption Deposit: Once you have decided that you want to proceed with the adoption, click `Continue to
checkout for animal(s)'. You will then be required to make a $50.00 non-refundable adoption deposit via PayPal.
You will receive a confirmation receipt.
3. Adoption Questionnaire: Using the receipt number from your deposit confirmation, you will then complete and
submit an online adoption questionnaire.
4. Come to Care Center: The final step towards adopting is to come to the Care Center where the animal is
located to meet this animal and review your information with staff. You must come to the Care Center within 48
hours to complete this process. If the animal's condition requires that it needs to leave the shelter sooner than
48 hours you will be contacted with that information.
AC&C reserves the right to deny adoptions if we deem it appropriate. Please refer back to our website

A volunteer writes: First, lets talk about Gabriel's eyes. They're magnificent: two greenish-yellow pools that make you ache for this sweet boy, who
was brought to the Care Center due to "family changes." Gabriel is very friendly, relaxed, and peaceful. He enjoys all human affection (and gives

A volunteer writes: Kelly is a beautiful amber colored brindle girl, looks well cared for in her shiny coat. She seems to have been well fed and
groomed and a staff member was petting her said, "This is a family dog, a house dog," and indeed she is. I see Kelly in a family, kids to play with, a
couch to curl up on as the family comes together to watch TV or play video games. Kelly appears to be housetrained, relieving herself as soon as we
were outside. She pulls on the leash so some training might be a good idea. She did not like being tethered for her photo shoot as she would much
rather have been walking or being pet, but who can blame her? Kelly is waiting for her new family to walk in the door. Ask to meet our brindle beauty
